Duke the wonder-dog and I returned from our fifth straight daily walk. We walk 2.2-3.0 miles each morning, depending on whether I make a loop on the farm-truck path lining the corn fields behind our house or whether I double back. The walk takes between 40 minutes and an hour and it really does feel great. The scenery is SO beautiful. I will take my camera next week so I can show you a bit. Here is a look back at the walk in the fall of 2007.
The bridge is still out which means no traffic on the road part of the walk!!! We've been told it may take two years to fix the bridge, which was caved in by heavy trucks. We would not mind one bit if they NEVER fixed it.
I'm going to noon mass today and then to run errands in town. I have to literally force myself away from home these days. Puttering tasks around here could keep me busy all summer but I must go visit a few folks and buy some groceries.
Happy Summer,
Sandy

Sandy: Nice! I will have a post up this weekend on puppys and monasticism. Check it out.
Allison, the post came through Google Reader but it's not up yet on the site so I can't comment. I can't wait to comment on your post because we also try to follow the dog-training methods of the monks of New Skete!!
Awesome. Yes, I launched the post too soon - mistakenly posting it. I think we will launch it on Monday.
OK. It finally is posted at
