We watched Lost faithfully for the first two seasons. We didn't have satellite TV in those ancient days so a family member taped each episode for us. We'd wait with baited breath for each new installment. Then, about the third season, the show took so many strange twists and turns and we lost interest. It surprised me to see others still talking about the show as I thought it had ended. We'd talk about trying to catch up but never worked up the enthusiasm.
We taped the finale this week and watched it last night. Wow. Here's my admittedly unsophisticated view:
I am so glad we watched the first two seasons and the finale. I'm glad we skipped all the plot twists and turns. We don't understand a few things, like who is this Man in Black, but from what I've been reading viewers who faithfully watched every episode don't understand a lot of things. I enjoyed seeing the flashbacks to the first season and I'm glad the characters finally got off the island, whether the island exists in reality or in a sideways reality, or not at all. I'm glad the spiritual themes of life after death played such a big part in the end.
The End.
