Getaway Day

In the MLB, traveling teams call the last day in a city "getaway day" as in tomorrow is a getaway day for the Cardinals who play an afternoon game in San Diego and then travel to Chicago for a three game series starting Friday.

Today is a getaway day for us. Terry has a one-day seminar in Indianapolis tomorrow and we're going to drive up there tonight. I get to see Cassie tomorrow while he is in his seminar! I miss her so much. She's been sick this week, strep throat, and that makes me miss her even more.

I need to till the garden this morning, do some laundry, and straighten up the house before I leave to meet Terry at his office mid-afternoon. If there's time, I will stop at a couple of stores to look for a new pool. There's a slow leak somewhere in our "Easy Set" and the ring won't hold air. We are going to switch to a metal frame pool and hope it will last more than one summer.

I'm easing into my stay-home routine. I am so glad to have time off from my classes this summer. Goals for the summer: paint the kitchen, sew new curtains for the kitchen, clean out closets, declutter the basement.

I'm also going to get some yarn and make these slipper socks for Christmas gifts for several people. I probably won't put the fuzzy fringe on the men's. Heh heh.

What are your summer plans?

Blessings,

Sandy
